For those who know me well, it’s not uncommon to hear me utter the statement “I heard on a podcast…”. Since graduating college and the explosion of podcasts I’ve turned to them for everything from news, to advice, and to health and wellness information.
When I started experimenting with dietary changes in 2018 to manage my Crohn’s, I found many podcasts centered around the topics of health and wellness. Many had interesting hosts who brought on insightful guests. Since then, I’ve found a few favorites who I continue to listen to and learn from each week. I’d recommend the following if you’re remotely interested in wellness trends, or like me, struggle with an autoimmune disease and are looking to the health and wellness space to help manage symptoms.
Diet Starts Tomorrow
I’ve been a loyal listener to the Betches Diet Starts Tomorrow podcast since day one. I’d highly recommend this show to anyone who struggles with the emotional side of eating. The mixed messages of health and wellness tend to be confusing and overwhelming. Sami and Aleen do an incredible job of making listeners feel like they’re not alone in their struggles. They’ve been best friends since middle school, and their banter is unparalleled. I’d recommend starting from the beginning to hear all the progress they’ve made in their journey to finding body peace and acceptance.
TSC Him & Her Podcast
Lauryn Evarts and Michael Bosstick are not only husband and wife, but also an incredible team of interviewers. They focus on a wide variety of topics throughout their show. They often bring on guests within the health and wellness space and do a great job at getting to the heart of why certain practices work and what makes them successful. This one is always a pleasure to listen to no matter the topic.
The Genius Life
I’ve listened to the Genius Life on and off for a few years and am always left feeling more informed and better off for it. Max dives deep into the science of nutrition and how what we eat affects our body and can be used to combat disease. Max brings on experts for each topic covered. I’d highly recommend listening if you’d like to dive deeper into the science behind nutrition.
There’s so much good content out there, it’s hard to narrow it down to just three. I’ve found these podcasts to be the ones I continue to come back to each week as they always leave me feeling more informed, entertained, and understood. I’d love to hear what your favorites are!
