If there is anyone out there who is a master at constantly producing new items for all diets, lifestyles, and tastes it’s Trader Joe’s. From everything pumpkin under the sun in the fall, to all things peppermint around the holidays, you can bet they’ll have an item that keeps you coming back week after week. These nine items listed below are the ones that I’d consider my Trader Joe’s must-haves. These are the items I find myself constantly repurchasing and using over and over again.
Just Mango Slices
These just mango slices are exactly what they sound like, just mango! No added sugars or additives of any type. They’re a great mix in for trail mixes and are the perfect snack for when you’re craving something sweet.
Teeny Tiny Avocados
We’ve all seen the jokes that millennials can’t afford to buy homes because they’re spending too much on avocado toast. While I don’t think that’s the reason we’re not yet home-owners, there is some truth to the fact that avocados are insanely over-priced. Trader Joe’s offers these bags of 6 avocados for $3.99. At most grocery stores you won’t be able to find an avocado for under $1.00 each. Plus, you can usually find a bag with a mix of different levels of ripeness, so you can enjoy a perfectly ripe avocado every day of the week.
Chunky Spicy Guacamole Auténtico
The best pre-made guacamole ever! Again, no weird ingredients or additives and it has a little bit of a kick to it. Great to put out as an appetizer at parties or just to throw on some homemade tacos.
Proscuitto Di Parma
When I went to Madrid to visit my college roommate who was living there for a year, I became obsessed with jamón (or as we call it, prosciutto). This pack from Trader Joe’s has some of the best tasting prosciutto I’ve tried. It makes a great quick snack when you’re in need of some extra protein, and it’s an amazing addition to a charcuterie board. You can learn how to make a beautiful charcuterie board from this post.
Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend
Next up we have the infamous Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend. I’m convinced there isn’t anything this seasoning doesn’t taste amazing on. My favorite way to use it is sprinkled on roasted veggies or chicken. If you haven’t tried it yet, you need to!
Almond Flour Chocolate Chip Cookie Baking Mix
This product is fairly new to me, however it’s been great to have on hand for an easy sweet treat. Good packaged gluten-free and dairy-free baked goods can be tricky to find. This one hits it out of the park. If you’re going to try only one item from this list, I suggest starting here!
Spindrift
La Croix walked so Spindrift could run. There are no added sugars in Spindrift, just real fruit juice and sparkling water. Unlike La Croix, since Spindrift contains real fruit juice it’s packed with a ton of flavor. In other words, you need to try one of their many flavors ASAP.
Julienne Sliced Sun Dried Tomatoes
Looking to take your homemade pasta sauce to the next level? These sun dried tomatoes pack in the flavor, and make the best addition to a tomato sauce or on top of a salad. Additionally, these sun dried tomatoes go great in my Chicken Milano recipe!
Salsa Autentica
Finally, the last of the Trader Joe’s must-haves, the Salsa Autentica. Again, there are no funny additives or sugars, which can be tough to find in a store-bought salsa. It packs a little bit of kick, and is the an amazing addition to a chips and salsa night.
It was so difficult to narrow down my Trader Joe’s must-haves to just nine items. I’d love to hear what your favorites are and what you think this list is missing!
